TulsaWORKS is Offering a New Class!

Private Security
Fast Track Training Phase I & II

What: an accelerated two-week course
CLEET License as an unarmed security guard

Where: Goodwill

Location: 2800 Southwest Blvd

Tulsa Transit: Bus #117 or #118

When: Classes take place the first 2 full weeks of every month

Time: Monday-Friday from 5:30-9:30pm

Cost: $50

First Class Begins Sept. 8th
Register by Aug. 28th

Requirements:
* Must be 18 or older
* 7th grade reading level
* No misdemeanors within the past 5 years
* No Felonies
* Pass a drug test

FREE Online Educational Classes

Coursera

If you are interested in taking educational classes online, a great resource is called Coursera which can be found online at www.coursera.org.

They offer FREE courses, as well as the opportunity to pay for more specialized certificates. This organization partners with universities and professors across the country and provides legitimate “college-level coursework” complete with lectures, assignments and grades.

You can sign up for FREE, and unless a course says there is a fee for something (like a book, or for a certification), it really is totally free and open to anyone 18 or older, or emancipated minors.

Courses are available in different languages,  on a variety of topics ranging from the arts, to education, engineering, law, medicine, computers, etc. There are some courses that you can “do at your own pace”, which are available immediately. And others that you sign up to start at certain times because you will be doing them with a group of other online students. You will be able to ask your teacher and student colleagues questions and answer questions of others.
